Fact: U.S. Special Operation Forces have a long disconnected history. It was years after World War II that U.S. SOF began to associate themselves with units of the past. In fact, U.S. SOF has an ignominious history, rife with jealousy and lack of inter-service cooperation. U.S. SOF has continually had to reinvent the wheel.
